Thanks for giving me some hope in my Civil 3D baptism. Been working with Softdesk/LDD since ‘96 (mainly in survey/topo but started in civil). Was ready to blow my head off with the rethinking needed for switching to 2009 3D. Or I thought about going back to being a Nuke reactor operator on rotating shifts for less stress. This stuff may have some awesome uses in the civil end of it but just doesn’t seem well suited (simple tasks buried too deep) for the simpler nature of boundary surveys and topographic drawings for the residential client.
